January 2018 Newsletter

Back to 2018 Newsletters

Dear Member,

Well, as this is the beginning of another year, I hope you all had an enjoyable festive season and that 2018 will prove to be a happy and productive year for you (and your bees).

Can I remind you that the date of our February meeting at the Friends’ Meeting House has been changed to the fourth Wednesday i.e. 28nd February. We are hoping to have a good turn out so we are offering a ‘door prize’. This means that one of you attending will be the lucky recipient of a very nice prize should your number be drawn. I will of course also try to keep the business side of the meeting short and sweet and hopefully you will find my equally short and sweet talk interesting.

Please think about nominating someone or volunteering yourself for a place on the committee. We need to nominate someone to be Chair Elect for 2018 and then this person will take over the chair from me in 2019, so essentially this person will be a deputy Chair in 2018. We will also be looking for someone to take over the role of organizing speakers for our monthly winter meetings as Rowan is stepping down from this task.

The committee only meets 4 times a year and helps at the three or four events where we have an information stand at during the year. If you are interested in helping out, or know someone who is, please put a name forward to Cathy, our secretary.

Talking about our secretary, it is worth mentioning that the secretary of our local association does a huge job behind the scenes of keeping our branch ticking over and of keeping us in touch with our parent organization BBKA. So many thanks for your hard work and dedication Cathy.

Please check our Events Page for the dates of meetings and events.

Regards,

Margaret Holdsworth
