• Check your woodpecker protection and ensure it is not too close to the wood of the hive as they will still peck through this barrier to get into the hive.

• Continue to monitor the stores for all colonies by weighing or hefting. Feed fondant now it the hive seems light.

• Identify equipment that needs cleaning or repair and make lists of what you need to order for the next season, or ask for these articles for Christmas.

• Use the time to do some study to increase your enjoyment and interest in beekeeping.
